This exhibition, set up for the time between August 7 and September 30, 2012, was the offer, we could prepare for the Galerija kulturnega centra Ravne na Koroškem (city-gallery of Ravne na Koroškem), for their contribution to the European Capital of Culture MARIBOR 2012.
We had the fortune of being able to present a young, extraordinary painter, Justus Jager (1982), who studied in St. Petersburg and lives, works and teaches today in Leipzig.
The idea for this show came up during the many talks raum AU has with friends throughout Europe as well and especially due to the necessity of the KGLU to present something special.
It should be special, was probably our thought, when conceiving the way we presented Justus Jager visual studies of the circus-life to the audience from Koroška and the many additional visitors, finding in this special year, from every corner of Europe, their way in our lovely region.

Dr. Elmar Zorn and Rado Carlo Poggi curated this show, presenting it under the title “Between Destruction and Renewal”.
Visitors could enjoy a colorful ensemble of paintings, from entire scenes of circus-life to single studies of artists, acrobats, clowns and jugglers. A crazy world of fantasy, dream, where no rules seem to apply, where everything can become an attraction, A world on the other hand that seems to get forgotten in our times, where is the magical world of the circus today?! – Maybe everywhere?!
